Quick addendum to the "Maribel" posting from Friday.  We don't have all the details yet but we can confirm she was arrested yesterday, May 24, 2017 and will likely remain incarcerated for the immediate future.  She was arrested for a traffic citation, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.

It has also been determined she has a detainer in a South Florida county.  The nature of those charges are unknown, at this time.

This does not affect her adoption decision but it may have an impact on a couple of other aspects - where the child will be born, maternity related living expenses and legal fees.

There is a chance now that she will be out of custody when the child is born (33%), in Jacksonville jail when the child is born (33%), in a South Florida jail when the child is born (33%) or in State prison when the child is born (1%).

We met with her today in the jail and she wants to proceed with the selection of adoptive parents part of the process and the meeting between her and the selected adoptive parents will take place in the jail (separated by some pretty thick glass).

She will get routine ob/gyn care in the jail and presumably there will be no drug consumption.  We will be depositing funds into her commissary account for the remainder of her stay in the jail.
